What is the Longmarsh Green Energy Project

The proposal combines solar panels, battery storage, data centre campus and associated electricity infrastructure. It will cover approximately 4,695 acres which is an area larger than 2,600 football pitches. The site will be split into the western site of Tillney St Lawrence and Tilney Cum Islington and the Eastern site of Fincham and Barton Bendish.

Evolution Power Ltd. are the developers behind the project, the financial backers are a Finnish company called Korkia.

This is an NSIP-national significant infrastructure project. This allows the Secretary of State to bypass local planning authorities in making a decision to approve the project. Once EPL have submitted their proposal the project will be given DCO status which is a development consent order. This will then be examined by the planning expectorate and the Secretary of State will make the final decision.
